“I recently had SM Roller Shutters install 16 shutters for my home. The whole process was smooth, neat, tidy, and the pricing was competitive.”

MADE TO MEASURE. BUILT TO LAST.

Quality roller shutters, done properly and priced fairly.

At SM Roller Shutters, we operate lean so your budget goes into the shutters and the installation, not sales commissions.

Every shutter is customised with precision for a clean fit and finish, and powered by SM quaility electric motors or Elero motors, a trusted German brand known for quality and reliability.

We’re not the cheapest, and we’re not overpriced either. We provide fixed, transparent pricing, backed by quality workmanship and accountability after installation.

Add a physical barrier over vulnerable windows.

IMPROVE HOME SECURITY

Roller shutters add a solid barrier over the window, making forced entry harder and noisier than glass alone. That extra resistance can help deter opportunistic break-ins and gives you more time to react, turn on lights, trigger an alarm, or call for help.

Sleep better with darker bedrooms and less noise.

blockout light and noise

Close roller shutters fully for real blockout and privacy from street lights, early sun, and passers-by. Want airflow? Raise them slightly to let light and air in while still shielding the room from direct view, especially on street-facing windows.

Reduce heat in summer, hold warmth in winter.

reduce and retain heat

Roller shutters block the sun before it hits the glass and add an insulating layer at the window. This reduces heat coming into the room on hot days and helps retain warmth in winter, making temperatures feel more stable and comfortable year-round.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions we  get asked.

Most homes land in the $770 to $1,655 (incl GST) per shutter supplied and installed with SM quality electric motors. Final pricing depends on size, access, and any non-standard prep.

We confirm everything on-site and provide a fixed written quote itemised window by window, often with pricing on the spot.

We service most Melbourne suburbs plus Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo by appointment.

For regional areas, we start with a quick ballpark over the phone first. If the ballpark suits, we book the on-site measure and provide a fixed written quote in writing.

Enter your postcode in the form and we’ll confirm straight away.

Yes. We offer SM quality electric motor option (best value) or an Elero motor option (trusted German brand).

Elero is $265 more per shutter than the standard motor. Your quote shows the motor choice and pricing in writing.

We use our in-house team so quality stays consistent and there’s one team accountable if anything needs attention later.

If wiring is required, we organise a licensed electrician so everything is done properly and checked before sign-off.

We use quality components and stand behind our work. You’ll have up to a 10 year warranty on shutter slats and motors (model dependent), plus warranty on other parts and workmanship.

Your quote confirms the warranty coverage for your exact shutters in writing. If something isn’t right, you contact us directly and we’ll sort it.

No. Our shutters are made to suit your exact openings, so we measure on-site and supply and install as one job.

That’s how we ensure the fit, operation, and finish are done properly.

No. We focus on supply and installation. If you only need a repair, we can point you in the right direction.

Most installs are completed in a day, depending on how many openings and access.

Once you approve, we’ll confirm a clear timeline in writing so you know what to expect.

We confirm the plan and timing, then custom-prepare your shutters to suit your openings.

On install day we fit everything, organise any required electrical work, test operation, and tidy up before we leave.

Yes, if you’d like payment options, ask during the measure and we’ll tell you what’s available for your job.

Terms & Conditions

SM SMART TRADING PTY LTD | ABN 15 675 563 809 | (“SM Roller Shutters”, “we”, “us”, “our”)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS (SUPPLY, INSTALLATION, REPAIRS)

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all quotes, orders, supply, installation, repairs, and services provided by SM Roller Shutters to you (“you”, “customer”). If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and a written quote or invoice, the quote or invoice will apply to the extent of the inconsistency.

1. DEFINITIONS. “Goods” means roller shutters and any related parts, accessories, remotes, controls, and materials we supply. “Services” means measuring, quoting, custom preparation, installation, electrical work (where included), repairs, and any related labour. “Work” starts when we order materials, commence custom preparation, schedule installation resources, or otherwise begin preparation for your job.

2. QUOTES AND ACCEPTANCE. Quotes are valid for 14 days from the date issued unless stated otherwise in writing. A quote is accepted when you confirm acceptance in writing (including SMS or email) or pay a deposit. Quotes are based on conditions reasonably observed at the time of quoting. If conditions differ, a variation may be required. If there is an obvious error in a quote, we may correct it before installation begins.

3. DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS. A deposit of 30% is required to place an order (unless stated otherwise on your invoice). Your deposit covers admin, scheduling, ordering materials, and preparation work. The remaining balance is due on completion of installation. If payment is overdue, we may pause work, reschedule, and recover reasonable costs. Payment is accepted by the methods stated on your invoice.

4. VARIATIONS AND ADDITIONAL WORK. Changes requested after accepting the quote will require a written variation for your approval and may affect price and timeline. Extra work outside the agreed scope will be discussed and approved before proceeding. If the work area is not clear on arrival, additional charges may apply — labour charged at $100/hour or $50/shutter depending on what is required.

5. SCHEDULING AND DELAYS. All timeframes are estimates only and may vary due to supplier delays, material availability, workload, weather, or site conditions. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for penalties or indirect losses caused by delays.

6. SITE ACCESS AND CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES. You agree to provide safe, clear access to work areas and power where required; remove obstacles, furniture, blinds, and fragile items; secure pets and children; ensure someone over 18 is on site; and obtain any approvals required (landlord, body corporate, permits). If access is not available or the site is unsafe, we may reschedule and a return visit fee may apply.

7. INSTALLATION AND COSMETIC LIMITS. Installation involves drilling and fixings and may cause minor marks to surfaces. Unless agreed in writing, we do not repaint or refinish surfaces. If we cause damage due to our negligence, we will take reasonable steps to rectify it.

8. ELECTRICAL WORK. Electrical work will be completed by a licensed electrician we organise. A Certificate of Electrical Safety will be provided for all electrical work completed.

9. OWNERSHIP AND RISK. All Goods remain our property until full payment is received and cleared. Risk passes to you once installed. If payment remains unpaid, you agree to provide reasonable access for us to recover unpaid Goods.

10. CANCELLATIONS. Before Work starts: we may retain or charge an amount reflecting reasonable costs incurred. After Work starts: you are responsible for all reasonable costs including materials ordered or custom-prepared and labour already performed. Refunds will be reduced by these costs except where required by law.

11. AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW. Our Goods and Services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. WARRANTY — RESIDENTIAL USE. Slimline Roller Shutter: 10 years on shutter profile slats and electrical motors. Polycarbonate Roller Shutter: 3 years on shutter profile slats and electrical motors. Alfresco Roller Shutter: 3 years on shutter profile slats and electrical motors. Manual winders, stainless steel cables, bearings, brackets, axles, pelmets, and other parts: 1 year. Roof shutter applications or shutters installed at less than 70 degrees pitch: 1 year. Workmanship and electrical workmanship/parts supplied by us: 1 year. Commercial goods, services, and repair jobs: 1 year unless stated otherwise in writing. All warranty periods start from the installation date.

13. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS. Warranty does not apply to issues caused by: relocation of the shutter; unauthorised modifications or repairs; use of non-genuine parts; misuse, neglect, or lack of maintenance; continued use while a fault is present; power surges, vandalism, impact, storms, floods, bushfires, lightning, salt exposure, chemicals, extreme weather, or animal interference; or normal wear and tear and cosmetic ageing.

14. WARRANTY CLAIMS. Submit claims by email within the warranty period, including your name, address, installation date, photos/video where possible, and description of the issue. We may schedule an inspection. If covered, we will repair or replace the defective component. If not covered, we will advise paid repair options.

15. REPAIRS AND CALL-OUT FEES. Standard call-out fee: $165 within 30 km. Additional travel charges apply beyond 30 km. A call-out fee applies when the workmanship warranty has expired or where the issue is not caused by us. For shutters not installed by us, the call-out fee is waived if you proceed with the paid repair recommended at that visit. After-hours/weekend/public holiday call-out fee starts at $495 within 30 km. Labour and parts for non-warranty repairs are charged separately. No paid work proceeds without your approval. If you decline repairs after attendance, the call-out fee remains payable.

16. URGENT REPAIRS. We will schedule repairs as soon as reasonably possible. Urgent or after-hours attendance may be available at higher rates as set out above.

17. WARRANTY TRANSFERABILITY. Warranties apply to the original purchaser and original installation site. Any transfer requires our written approval.

18. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. Nothing excludes consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Where permitted by law, our liability is limited to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having the services supplied again.

19. CHANGES TO TERMS. Any updated Terms apply to future quotes and orders. The Terms that apply to your job are those in place when you accept your quote, unless both parties agree in writing to a change.

20. GOVERNING LAW. These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Disputes will be handled in the courts of Victoria.
