How SM Roller Shutters Started
Before SM Roller Shutters existed, our team worked as subcontractors for larger shutter companies across Melbourne. We did the measuring and the installs. The sales reps who closed deals got paid more than the crew doing the work.
SM Roller Shutters was established to cut out the sales team and the middlemen. The money that used to pay commissions goes into the shutters and the install instead. Better product, fairer price, installed by the people who actually know how.

How do roller shutters work mechanically?
Horizontal aluminium slats roll up into a compact headbox mounted above your window. A tubular motor is housed within the drive axle and drives the slats up and down via remote control or wall switch. When closed, the slats interlock into a rigid panel and the motor’s internal brake engages to hold everything in place. Who actually installs SM Roller Shutters at your home?
Our own in-house crew. No subcontractors, no hired labour, no third-party installers. The same team works on every job.
